Testimony

A New Life:
Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)
But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved.

Pastor Roy Rogerio's Testimony
3 years after completing my service in the United States Army and losing my first civilian job, my life, marriage, and fatherhood was a mess. At this point, Tina, my wife, was about to ask for a divorce when the Lord intervened in her life.
The Lord told her, "I'll fix your horizontal relationship, if you fix your vertical relationship with Me." So, it was a done deal. She began to go back to the last place that she heard from the Lord, which was a small little Baptist church on Bynum Road. Meanwhile, I was attending a Catholic church, and was in the middle of trying to get our kids through their First Communion.

I began to notice my wife's whole demeanor change. I noticed she started to go to church twice on Sundays and once on Wednesdays. I didn't understand why she was going so many times during the week. So, I concluded the reason of her going as often as she did was because she was having an affair. One morning, I got up, got dressed and was going to meet this "other guy" and "take care of him". Well, boy did I meet "the other guy". It was Jesus and boy did He "take care of me".

Shortly after that, I knelt down in the living room floor and asked God into my life. He led us to Calvary Chapel San Antonio, where I quickly fell in love with the chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse teaching; Pastor Ron and Paula Arbaugh, and the love felt in the church. Then, on the 7th of November of 1999, I answered the alter call that was presented that day. Matthew 10:23 "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in heaven."

The Lord immediately placed a calling in my life to be a voice for him, and my life has never been the same since. We have been involved with Ministry and Leadership at Calvary Chapel of San Antonio, Calvary Chapel Living Water, Grace Calvary Chapel, and Calvary New Life San Antonio. It was here, under the leadership of Pastor Louie Delgado, that the Lord led him to ordain me Assistant Pastor on August of 2012.

While serving at Calvary New Life San Antonio, Pastor Louie developed cancer and went to be with the Lord on October of 2016. After weeks of praying, the Lord led me to these verses: Colossians 2:6-7 "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." So on December 4th of 2016, I became the Senior Pastor of Calvary New Life San Antonio.

It wasn't long after that when Calvary New Life suffered another trial. On March 14th of 2017, the church building caught fire and was completely destroyed. 1 Peter 1:6-7 "In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." You see, the Bible says that a believer's faith will be tested and made sure by the trials we experience, so that, we can rest in the knowledge that it is real and will last forever. After three long years, on March 14, 2020, we moved back into our newly built building. 1 Corinthians 1:9 "God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

As I look back at all the good times and the bad times, I am reminded that our God, our forever loving, abound in grace and mercy Heavenly Father, will never leave us nor forsake us. He is our shield, our hope, our salvation and our promised victory in Jesus Christ. Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
In Christ Always,

Pastor Roy Rogerio

who we are

Calvary New Life is a group of people who simply desire to love God and love others.
We take the Word of God very seriously and so we strive to teach expository sermons
through each book of the Bible so that can grow in our walk with Jesus Christ our Lord.
We hold firmly to the truth that the growth of our love for God will always be evidenced
and reflected by how we treat our fellow man especially those in the body of Christ.

If you are looking for a church fellowship or desire to simply come and check things
out, then please contact us to get more information...we would be blessed to hear from
